Our Purpose
EFNE is a guild for all kinds of entrepreneurs, supporters & resource providers. This forum is about making connections & sharing resources in a community. It is a network among many networks. EFNE is about fresh thinking. Company’s form as an ensemble of talent. Find talent required to go to scale. Business is not just about the fast track to venture capital. Bootstrapping with cash and customers is equally viable. Self-help books help, but equally vital is learning hands-on from each other. Use sweat equity by getting one customer & the next. Passion matters a lot.
The creative economy is a ferment of technology, art, design, bio-medical research, ecology and local, living economies. It is creative – the idea born from a new combination, it is innovative– the application of the idea into something useful. Creativity and innovation are nourished by a creative ecosystem that fosters the clustering of ideas and talent. Historic towns & old cities of New England are natural incubators of the creative economy. Place is important in attracting talent and resources.
The authentic guilds of old were professional association of elders & apprentices working together as a learning community. The focus was craft. With EFNE, the focus is entrepreneurial practice & learning. Tools, processes, and wisdom move around the community. The guild organizes the exchange so all can get access to opportunity and learning.
The EFNE guild has 3 offerings:

- A yearly, regional Festival in Providence as one laboratory for entrepreneurship
